pssssst

I made a photography blog....its a secret since I'm not totally done with it yet.

But...I'm really bad at keeping secrets when it comes to presents and exciting things.

So...

I'm posting the link here

Birthdays

Is it wrong to be planning Morgans birthday party already? I cannot believe it, she is nearly 20 months old! Even though it is nearly March (1.5 hrs and counting) July will be here in the blink of an eye. I have so many ideas, I have to remind myself that she will have more than one party. I suppose we will always have to have the party on the weekend after her birthday (unless her birthday is on a weekend) because of the July 4th holiday so many people go out of town. So I have been thinking, and right now, I think I want to do a Halloween inspired costume party! How fun would that be? Everyone could dress up and we can do fun Halloween games. Its like 120 degrees here during the day and we don't have a pool so our options are pretty limited, plus I figured it would be fun for the adults too! I wonder where I will find Halloween supplies? It won't be too halloweenish though, I was thinking of doing black pink and maybe gold (instead of orange) for colors and making her a cool tulle skirt and custom made top...oh the possibilities!

Ebay

I have been pretty addicted to ebaying lately. I guess it comes and goes. Apparently, since the last time I really posted Morgans clothes a few months ago, ebay (at least the kids section) has gone crazy! I used to be able to get things from Gap and Gymboree for $1-2, now people are charging about $8.00 just for shipping, I saw one for $15 for a 2t shirt! Crazyness! I started posting items on ebay for flat rates with free shipping, I've sold 12 things and made over $80.00! Its crazy, its nice using that money to purchase 2t items for her for the summer and not feel guilty (David likes it too)!

My ebay handle is morgansmommy7808, I've been trying to add friends to my sellers list to help them get to the top seller status.

Anyway...happy bidding!

Catching Up

I have been pretty bad at updating my blog, it was actually my new years resolution, to not update it. Just kidding. I have just been super busy lately. Here is a picture catch up blog and I promise to update more!

Hiking Fun

Since its been gorgeous out lately, Morgan and I have been trying to spend more and more time outside, our backyard is dog territory, so we like to hang out at the park. I have been wanting to go hiking for ever, and finally got a chance to go last weekend. My friends Amy and Bella went with us to hike camelback mountain, it was beautiful!

Morgan tagged along as well, I managed to get about 1/2 way up with her in her backpack, and then Bella took over!

Here are some fun pictures we took of our trip!

Go CHS!

My baby brother Andrew is actually a senior at Chandler High, I cannot believe it! I am getting so old, it will be 7 years since I graduated this June! Morgan loves to watch her Uncle Drew play football and lacrosse, and we cannot wait to hear which sport he chooses to do in college, on Scholarship! Drew has been all around the country looking at different div 1 and 2 schools to play lax and football in including the Air Force Academy, now he just has to decide! Just think, my little brother who I used to dress up like a girl because I wanted a sister (andrea, lol) is all grown up!

Morgan and I went to the Chandler/Hamilton game a few weeks ago. Chandler totally blew it in the last 3 seconds and lost the game! Oh well, we are cursed, makes it an even 12 years that Hamilton has beat us in football :(

Here are some fun pics of the game, my dad coaches the Freshman football team, so we had "connections" and got to sit in the end zone, needless to say, SUPER easier than the bleachers with a baby!

Playoffs start this week and Morgan and I will be there!

It Rained!

Uncle Drew is #33

Morgan got a little cold after the rain stopped, so she wore my sweat shirt for a while!

Kindercare Halloween Party

Having Morgan going to Kindercare two days a week has been great! She loves her classroom, teacher and all the new friends she has made. When we arrive she gets so excited, and she waves bye bye to school all the way home. It has really helped her socialize and she loves doing arts and crafts!

On Friday the school had a Halloween party. I took Morgan in her Halloween costume - Goldilocks! She loved her class and would run to it every time we tried to explore another part of the school! The kids had a lot of fun, each classroom had activities and the entire playground had bounce houses food and more! We even got to donate a book to Morgans classroom, which her teacher read on Tuesday.

I finally finished a project

Ok, I stole this idea from Stacie (actually I think she used this exact print), but I have been teaching myself how to sew and it has been going very slow! But, I think I am finally getting the hang of it!

Here is my first project, the store was out of 18 month onsies, I had to get 12 months so they are a little snug on Morgan so I am going to give this outfit away and make her a new one!

I will post more when they are done, I have the cutest idea for a Halloween outfit!

Toddler Finger Paints

I haven't tried this yet, but it looks like fun so I thought I would share!

While searching for fun things to do with Ayla, I came across this great recipe for edible finger paint. I can't wait to try it!

Simple Food Based Finger Paint

* ½ cup of cornstarch
* ¼ cup of sugar
* 2 cups cold water
* Food coloring

This simple finger paint recipe may not be the tastiest if your toddler eats it, but it is made up of completely non-toxic, edible ingredients so you don't have to worry about any chemicals touching your toddler's skin.

Mix the cornstarch and sugar together. Slowly stir in the water and mix well. Put the mixture in a pot on the stove over medium heat and heat for about 5 minutes or until the mixture develops a gel-like texture. Separate the mixture into several smaller containers and add a few drops of food coloring to each container.

Alternatives to Food Coloring

Some parents may prefer to avoid food coloring because their toddler is allergic to it or because they want to use more natural ingredients.

* Red - cherry juice, raspberry juice, cranberry juice
* Blue - blueberry juice
* Yellow - dried turmeric
* Health food stores may carry vegetable based food coloring.

Day at the museum

The Phoenix Children's museum is a great way to hang out on a hot day. Stacie and I took Morgan and Delainey there a few weeks ago! Morgan had a blast and of course my camera battery died halfway through the trip. Here are some of my favorite pictures!
