I love

being a mom! It is so much fun and yet it is hard not to have her home. We have gotten to know the special care nurses for the last week and their staff is so great! Unfortunatly we werent able to get the nesting room so I had to come home tonight (we had been staying in the nesting room since Friday and she only spent time in the nursery for feedings every 3 hrs) but good news. Morgan had her feeding tube removed this afternoon because she took 5 bottles in a row with no help! The doc said she may be discharged tomorrow or Wednesday, but we will get priority on the nesting room so we can stay overnight tomorrow if needed! We are home getting some much needed rest and cleaning up the house . But it was much easier leaving her there tonight than last week, plus no tube!!! We will be going up there tomorrow with everything ready to go just in case - keeping fingers crossed! We are also going to donate our extra boppy rocker that we received at our shower to the nursery to help the other babies. Pretty much all the other babies were a lot sicker than Morgan and it made me appreciate that she didnt need to go under the bilirubin lights or get hooked up to monitors.There is a baby in there who is 3 months old and only 4 pounds. It definately made me thankful for what I have, a beautiful healthy baby girl!

After going to see the movie Hancock on Sunday night, as we were walking to the car my water broke. We went to the hospital and were admitted at 12:30 am on Monday night. I began to contract on my own and didnt need any assistance, but I wasn't progressing until about 12 PM. From there it went fast until 8 PM when it was time to push, then it went so so slow. I pushed for 4 hours! Luckily I was able to get a reboost of epidural (greatest thing ever!) and a nap about 1030 PM, from there it was non stop pushing for 2 hours. It was the hardest but most rewarding thing I have ever done. I can't imagine what would have happened if she was full term!

Making her grand entrance about 5 weeks early, she is doing great for being a (BIG) premie. She is having a little bit of trouble sucking and swallowing and will have to remain in the nursery with a small tube in her nose until she can eat 2oz at a time (right now she is eating about 3/4 ounce). The doctors say its totally normal for her age and she will just get it at any time. We bottle feed her and then help her with the rest in a pump. It was scary at first but now is routine. Morgan is getting better at it each day and hopefully will be home by the weekend or early next week. We will be at the nursery most of the days to come, but the staff is wonderful. She is not hooked up to anything, so we can take her where ever, in fact she stayed in out room 99% of the hospital stay so far. So while it is hardest thing leaving her, she is in really good hands!

This just in...

I am just waiting for David to get up since I really want IHOP. I am not sure what is up with my breakfast cravings lately. Yesterday I make breakfast in bed for David but made it at like 8am (He got home from work at like 3am) so there was no waking him, so I ate all the cinnamon buns FIVE CINNAMON BUNS! No wonder I gained 3 lbs in 1 week. So I am just passing time. I bought a really cute cubs jersey brand new on ebay this morning. Its pink and was only $7.00. Oh how I love and am obsessed with ebay!

The Autism Speaks Foundation is having its annual Phoenix Walk on November 2nd at Tempe Beach Park. Autism is a spectrum disorder that affects more than 1 out of 150 children. It is a cause that is very important to us, as Liz has her degree in psychology and has done a lot of research on the disorder. With us now becoming parents, it is even more important for funding to go towards research and continuing education for children with autism. Multiple Sclerosis is a disease that has gone through my (Liz's) family on both my mother and fathers side. It has effected my Grandfather, Aunt and my cousin Emily who is only 23. We believe strongly that research and funding can help prevent and treat this disorder.
